What if the SEO came to your office or group today?

Well the SEO did come to our Store, yesterday.

What really happened?  What a missed Opportunity.  

Is the SEO of your company a leader?

It's a big deal when an SEO comes to any place - they are supposed to be the leader of the company.

What wasted time and resources! ( There were 5-6 other people with him - but they were all huddled around each other. - what a statement. )

I work at well known and BIG Store at least in the USA, if not one of  the  biggest stores in the world -

So when an SEO does a surprise visit and even the store manager did not know of this coming visit - that's ok, but what of the visit - what good did it do?

They complimented us on the produce and meat departments ( Ok great ).

What would you do as a SEO?

Well, I would have at least - upped the Corporate culture - I would start putting value into the employees - our turn over is really high - 500  employees are hired and quit every year like clock work.   Over 11,000 just in our store in 22 years!

Things are not getting better - more micro management.

Moral is low, wages and benefits are low.

Theft is high 2.2 Million just in our store.

Now I'm sure, I only see a small part of what goes on, in the store, but what would you do, If you were - a visiting SEO?

I would at least had a short meeting with some of the employees, at least 10 minutes or so, talked about where the company is going and how it not only will improve and get better,  ( show and tell us how we can help in that area ) at least paint a picture of where you are going.

In fact - the short sited  and greed, of the company is showing more and more.

We are not alone - way too many companies are doing this - between legal battles and other problems - it just seems like - the employees are the least of what makes a company run any more -

I know a few companies that have great corporate culture - but not ours -
to me its a show of what is missing more than what is there.

Is it time to look else where - I think so - will I find a better company to work with and for - I'm not sure - but if I don't try - I'll never know -

God help  us to be better as SEOs and as employees - life short and working for a company that does not value you - is not only wasteful - often it is short of abusive.

To those companies that are worth while to work for I solute you.

May we find a better way to appreciate all we can do together.

I have enough battles to fight - I don't need to fight - the company I work for!
